Autoimmune disease caused by spike protein and potential management approaches

Course Content
Spike Protein
The spike protein is located on the outside of a coronavirus and is how SARS-CoV-2 (the coronavirus) enters human cells. Its location on the outside of the virus makes it so the immune system can recognize it easily. The spike protein is unique to SARS-CoV-2 – it doesn't look like other proteins your body makes.

About Lesson

Autoimmune disease caused by spike protein and potential management approaches There is growing evidence that spike protein could result in anti-ACE2 antibodies. This in most cases is a normal (homeostatic) mechanism. However, in some individuals it can last longer and become problematic. Let’s review the possible therapies in light of the pathogenesis. Educational material only. Not a medical advice. Please discuss these therapies with your doctor and follow his advice.
